After the Latin Miami Little Havana, I’m going to show you two completely different faces of this fantastic city that you can easily see: the luxurious Coral Gables and the Downtown.
Â
Let’s start from Miami Coral Gables.Â
Â
Located near Little Havana, this is the luxurious district of the city.

| Venetian Pool in Coral Gables Miami |
Here you can find villas or houses built following the European style with nice and clean gardens like these ones. Also the typical American cars are replaced by the European cars such as Mercedes, BMW, Porsche and so on.
Â
In the middle of Coral Gables you can find the Venetian Pool, a wonderful complex of swimming pools and cascades with coral rock caves, clearly inspired, as you can get it from its name, from the beautiful Italian city of Venice.
Â
Â
The ticket costs 10.5$ per person
Â
Just imagine now to cross this avenue surrounded by trees
and get immediately to the Miami Downtown: this is not the truth but sometimes it’s nice to dream something different.
Â
From the elegant Coral Gables villas the scenario is completely different: you are surrounded by impressive skyscrapers and you feel completely dwarfed by them. Its clearly the financial centre of the city and of Florida (not as important as New York).
Â
Look at the Miami train system: it’s not a subway or underground, but an aerial railway: it was the first time I saw this! 🙂
Â
You can also see the American Airlines Arena, house of the NBA basketball team, the Miami Heat.
Â
Even if it may look clean and not that dangerous, some parts of Downtown Miami are not that safe and the presence of several police cars can just give you the sensation of security. Be careful, especially under the aerial railway stations.
Â
Â
This is a place where you can change your currency in US dollars thanks to exchange agencies.
Â
Finally, if you want an Italian coffee and something different from Starbucks, please visit it D’Oro Caffè.
